The 6th round of Czech Open was last weekend on my home track in HornĂ JelenĂ. The track was very wet on Friday and because of this we couldnâ™t practice. During night the track conditions changed and we started practice but still on little bit wet track. After lunch started qualifications.
For 1st qualification we chose wrong tires and it didnâ™t go well. For the 2nd quali we changed oils in shocks and tires and it still wasnâ™t good. So finally for the third we chose good tires and went back with the oil choice and then the car was much better. In the 4th I made the fastest time and with the 3rd quali time I took 1st position. On Sundayâ™s morning we drove yet one more quali where I finished 2nd but I stayed 1st overall.
After the last quali the quarter finals started. I started from 1st position on the grid in semifinal A. I finished 1st but from the start I made few mistakes, it cost me the time and because of this Jirka Mára in second semifinal was faster. Then I started from the 2nd position on the grid in main final. Since the start, me and Jirka had very good fights. We were changing lead but in the 2nd half I made some mistakes and Jirka stretched his lead. In the end I crossed the finish line on 2nd position and I won the Junior class.
My XB8â™16 was working really well and my FX engine was great too. Thanks to all for great atmosphere and nice race and mainly to my dad for being my mechanic.
